Sun Awakens

No Directional Light, No Baked Lighting, No Ray Traced Lights, Just Local Lights To Boost This Scene!

I Used This Environment Multiple Time Before, Each Time is Completely Different Scenario Which is The Challenge

In Just 3 Hours, This Has Been Turned From Flat Boring Look, To This Result..

- Started With Base Sky, And Pushed A Bit With Ambient Lighting

- Global Height Fog is Then Added

- Key Fake Lights That Simulate A Directional Light, Lots of Spot Lights Placed To Draw The Focal Point

- Additional Bounce Lights That Are More Saturated, Lower Hue "More Red" That Feel Like Glow, Added Carefully To Simulate How Global Illumination Works

- Then, Additive Complementary Blue Lights Added To Fill in The Shadows, Bringing Up More Balance in Greyscale Values

In My Opinion, This Kind of Challenging Pracitce Gives You Another Level of Competitive Edge, It's Like Painting in 2D With Brushes, But It's Way Harder To Control Here As You Have A Lot More of Other Things That Unreal Handle Automatically

When I Talk With Our Program Members, I Highly Encourage To Master This Skill, It Changes The Way You Are Thinking About Lighting.. More Creativity, More Challenges!

This Approach is a MUST to Learn, Some Think It's not, So I would Like to Know Your Thoughts About it.. What is a Must, What is Not?
