A quick lighting practice project I was working on during my free time to explore a new lighting mood with a different art direction from what I used to do. I got inspired mainly by Darek's Zabrocki artwork "Path to the Festival", check out this outstanding artwork here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/GaAeyd
The scene's main elements are the trees, so I decided to use Quixel Megascan trees (Black Alder) to get high-quality trees. You can get them for free: https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/megascans-trees-european-black-alder-early-access?sessionInvalidated=true
The scene was built using other Quixel Megascan assets, I depend on them in almost every project. And with Nanite enabled, I can get film-quality assets quickly in my projects.
Also, I used Easy Fog to add the fog cards. It's a very good pack that is easy to use with a very good look. You can find it here: https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/easyfog
As usual, I export the renders with ACES to have a more extensive color space and more accurate values. I used Davinci Resolve as it's a very powerful tool for color grading, it adds this final touch that makes the look more interesting and visually appealing. I start by adding base curves and adjusting the colors a bit, then I add some screen and lens effects such as bloom (AKA: Glow), chromatic aberration, aperture diffraction, vignette, and camera shake.
